Fair Market Price For Used OEM 20" Style 87 Rims?
I know they cost a lot brand new but how much do they usually go for used because I have no idea. I might be able to get my hands on a set of used ones but the potential seller wants $2000 for them with no tires. He said they are over $4000 brand new. I don't wanna get ripped off but is his asking price reasonable with no tires? How much would you guys pay? I have seen the rims in person and they are in very good condition. |

BMW has them listed at $4000 brand new, your seller is correct. Honestly though, they are worth what you decide to pay for them. I have not been able to find any for sale, anywhere.

Bottom line - they are used. I would say somewhere in between 1000.00 and 1400.00.........but I would offer $950.00....I drive a hard bargain!
Ball is in your court..could you share how much he is asking and then we could wiegh in.... Good Luck either way! RR

Often you can find rims on Craigslist for cheap. I just bought a set of 4 17" with decent tires for only $100. A set of 18" with snow tires was $390. I would say $2k is way too much. $4000 is MSRP, which is extremely marked up from cost. If you like them, insult the seller with a low price. You can always go up, but never down.

Would you guys jump on this if it was $1000 for just the rims only? I'm planning to counter offer with $1000... I hope he doesn't tell me to f@ck off or take a hike.
Just a thought, for $1000 I can buy a set of brand new replicas. Are OEM worth the extra money over replicas? Is it true that OEM rims are a lot more durable and stronger? These set of used Style 87's I'm interested in look good on the surface but is there a way to tell if they're damaged internally such as bends without putting them on a machine? Also, how can I tell if they were ever refinished or not? |
