Water Leak

So I noticed when it rains water enters somehow into the rear cargo area, on the right side, near the fuses under the cover thing (where the sub goes? or where you can put a bsw sub. best way i can describe it). I can't figure out where the leak is from. Anybody ever have this issue?

check your taillight....or the rubber trim has to be replaced on the small side window

I already checked the tail light but could not replicate the problem. but maybe my test was just not effective. I will take a look at the small side window trim as well.

Is there anywhere to check around the trunk lid? i feel like it might have seeped in from somewhere in that area. a few months ago i found a significant amount of water in the area i previously described, filling up the bottom with about a half an inch to an inch of water! and it seems there is some sort of drain plug on the bottom, when opened will release the water out of the vehicle. i found it odd there was a drain plug kinda thing there..as if something is expected to leak in that area?

I'm getting the same thing, water in the passenger side trunk area compartment. So I should check the side window and brake light?

On vehicles in general the problem is almost always a crack or separation in the tail light. A tiny crack can admit a magical amount of water.

It is also common to find that the seal isn't working because of bad old bodywork. The mating surfaces may not mate up, or rust holes may have formed or they did not replace the factory caulking (expensive stuff).

I have found that trunks and lids rarely leak, except for similar bad bodywork issues. Same for quarter glasses.

The test is to use a hose just on the tail light, not above it or on the lid. If, the light is ok, then work up to a higher or different spot. This will isolate the area.

Sometimes the lens will fill up part way with water before it overflows into the quarter panel, or it will decide to not leak that day, so a give it time.

It is best to use a flashlight to watch the area inside while the water is applied. Even if you only see one drop, that is a leak area.

Almost all vehicles have drain plugs in areas where water can accumulate. I think it is nice of them, but it may also be part of the manufacturing process. Maybe for when they get dipped. Not sure.

Sunroof drain hose mayb clogged?

I usually see this from sunroof drains clogged, but once or twice I have seen water come from a body seam under the tail light. The rear drains for the sunroof are right inside the top of the rear hatch, you could check to make sure those are draining properly. Otherwise I'd sit in there with a flashlight and have someone go over the whole car extensively with a hose.
