Trying to get Wurth paint to match on 4.8iS rims
Let my nephew drive my X and poor kid had a moment and kerbed an alloy parking. He seriously could not have felt worse, I am sure he was genuinely going to barf.
I have done a nice repair job per the 'NASA paint repair' link and painted with the Wurth paint and laquer but it is too light. Anyone has any success matching ? The rims are stock 4.8iS 20s and I was wondering perhaps about a coat of a graphite first ? David

The new paint is lighter looking because it's cleaner than what's on there now probably. Lol. All kidding aside, you might just have to blend it in more by spraying a little wider area. I've used the Wurth on several repairs and have always had good results. To get a perfect match would probably require painting the whole wheel though.
