R&R Automatic Climate Control Module

Has anyone ever replaced the entire Climate Control Module? I have the usual broken buttons (Max and Fan) but also the Recirculation and Foot button lights are burnt out. So instead of just replacing the buttons I figured I might as well replace the entire unit.

How difficult is this?

Also, when I inquire about the part, I'm always asked if I have rear A/C. How can I tell? My center console has the fan and temp dials for the rear, but does this qualify as rear A/C?

I have a 2001 3.0i.

Thanks.

Yes that is your rear a/c.... I have seen the replacement module on ebay for around $100. Easy to replace, it pops right out, but I usually take the radio out and push it out from the rear instead of trying to pry it out. And there are four harnesses on the rear you would have to disconnect and reconnect to the new one.
