I have the transmission filter and pan gasket sitting in the garage collecting dust. It is still wrapped in plastic.
I can let it go for $45 shipped. It's for a 3.0. |

On my pan is yellow label with 83220142516.
As I found 83220142516 is Shell ATF M-1375.4 . Is Esso LT 71141 recomended? BMW 2004 X5 4.4i , chassis - LV05064 Last edited by ika; 12-24-2007 at 01:24 PM. |

If you decide you need the ESSO LT 71141, do yourself a favor and buy it from bavauto.com for $15 a liter instead of paying the dealers $48 per liter bogus markup (which, by the way, is an 8x markup over BMW's suggested retail price of about $7.50 a liter or $546 for a 75 liter/20 gallon drum). Your will need about 9 liters to do a 1-time fluid change out. That will not be all of the fluid in the tranny, but about as much as can be swapped out with a single change. Good luck!

VW sells the same Esso fluid for the 4.4 liter 5 speed transmission for less money than what BMW dealers charge.
I paid about $13/liter from the VW dealer in Anchorage. VW part number G 052 162 050 |
