New to BMW Ownership and have some issues

I just purchased as CPO 2006 X5 with 34,000 miles. This is my first experience with a BMW. After owning the car 5 days this has been my experience:
1. The steering wheel control back lights stopped working. Light switch was in the AUTO position. When I switched the lights to off and then back to auto, the back lights turned on. Anyone else experience this?

2. Bluetooth was working perfectly and then stopped. The message on my cell phone was "Bluetooth device turned off or out of range", however, the phone was sitting on the console and was definitely in range. The next morning, I started the car and all had returned to normal. Weird!!

3. The fold down mirror got stuck in the down position. The next day, it functioned normally.

4. Today, the daytime running lights are not working.

Could these be computer glitches? I am really concerned that there could be serious electrical problems or computer problems. Has anyone else experienced any of these problems? If anyone could shed some light on these or share your similiar experiences, I surely would appreciate it. I really love the way this vehicle drives, but these issues are ruining my overall experience.

Thanks.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Since you just bought it with CPO, these issues should be covered. They do seem like some kind of glitches, but the cause is what would take some diagnosis time to find.

What I would do is write down each concern as it happens, and under what conditions it happens, ie: any particular circumstances like first start in morning/cold start, only when hot, only with a certain set of keys (personalized key memory, his/hers keys) etc. Or if they just happen randomly. As this information can make life alot easier on the tech for diagnosis, and would help prevent a "could not verify" on a problem.

For the bluetooth, it may have a reciever antenna problem, which may have triggered a fault in memory, or it may have been a glitch with the phone as well.

The fold down mirrors only operate fully at a stop, if you were driving it wouldn't go out when you push the button. Otherwise, they are controlled by a lin bus signal, so would need dealer diagnosis.

The daytime running light can be set to different keys through car and key memory, so could possibly be set for one key but not the other...

Hopefully the dealer can sort it out for you pretty quick so you can get back to enjoying that truck!

Thanks so much for the information, weasel56. Excellent tip with regard to writing down the details.
I have a service appointment next week for some cosmetic issues, so I will definitely have them look at these problems as well.

BMW's require a fair amount of maintenence. It's typical German engineering; use 1,000 parts to do the job of 500. But if you keep it maintained it'll be the best vehicle you've ever owned. Nothing drives like a BMW.

I have had several problems with Bluetooth, doesn't work 100% of the time. I also just had my mirror replaced for the reasons you described.
