Lightbulb Cap speed on 2001 X5 4.4

Hello all. First I want to thank everyone for the informative posts. My wife has a tendency driving above the speed limit on the freeway . Is there a way to cap the speed at a maximum of 65 mph on a 2001 X5 4.4? Thanks again.

Oh man ... let me say that I don't know the answer. Maybe the limiter can be adjusted but I don't know for sure.

On another point ... actually it might not be safe doing that ... as there may come a time when she needs to pass/accelerate/avoid at a higher speed (for whatever reason).

Sorry don't have the answer you're looking for though.

I don't think so. Maybe you can buy some aftermarket parent control type of system.

I have an 02 with navigation and I know I can set a tone to beep when I exceed a certain speed.

Max limit… sounds scary to me.

I often drive in Germany… and the roads with unlimited speed are the perfect place for the X5

Even without nav, I am pretty sure you can set the audible tone to beep when you set a certain speed. If you go into the trip computer it should be in there.
