Anyone have experience with Rayovac car batteries?
No more Werker in a Group 49 size, but they now sell a Rayovac- 850 CCA and an RC of 180. 2 year replacement warranty, 84 month prorated. But I've never seen a Rayovac car battery before. $119 after a $10 coupon discount since this store just opened. But I didn't see a nipple for a vent on the battery so I opted out. Any input?

Sorry I can't help on Rayovac but I can say I just replaced my BMW Exide (4 years old) with a Bosch. Came from PepBoys at $99. Its 850 cca at 32 degrees or 1000 cca at 60 degrees. 36 month unlimited warranty, 96 month pro rated.
Came with vent kit to allow vent at either end. Seems like good value and what reviews I can find are very positive. David |

Fas4WD, did you get this battery from PepBoys in germany? I am wondering if the US stores will have this in stock or can order it.
Thanks, -Cyrus

When I went to my local PepBoys, they had the OEM Bosch battery for the 4.4i in stock. Heck, it was even cheaper than the OEM 3.0i batter with a lower specifications.
Either way, I think any battery with the correct specifications should work as long as it has a similar design to OEM and that does mean it includes the vent.

Yup, just picked up my Bosch battery at Pepboys- $99.
3 year full replacement warranty, 96 month prorated 850 CCA RC 120 (a bit less than OE) Vented Not a bad way to go. Now I have to figure out how to get the rear hatch open with a dead battery. Guess I'll have to pull out my jump box and hook it up to get enough power to pop the rear to get at the battery.

TowX,
There is a manual trunk release - if you are looking at the hatch from inside, it is a piece of gray plastic on the left of the hatch (below the glass). Make sure you give the hatch a good push though, it will not "pop" open like it does with power. -Cyrus

Thanks, never realized what that was. Guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks.
In the end I just used my jump box on the positive terminal on the firewall and opened all the doors and tailgate. Didn't feel like climbing from the drivers seat all the way to the back to used the manual release. Old battery out, new Bosch in and back in business. Thanks all for the replies/
