2001 was a bad year for pixels
Had my 2001 E38 covered LAST year total replacement. Over @ Bimmerboard we had a bunch of E38's covered. Some complete fix some they had to cover labor. Pixel replacement out of book is .5 of an hour so most people paid for it. Not bad for a eight year old car!

yall may be new members. we all got it fixed for free, well you pay 0.5 hour labor of course, but the $600 part is free. do the search. i got mine replaced completely free. warranty is not an issue here, bmw thinks its the safety issue so they step up and offer this goodwill repair. again, search the forum it will come up. good luck getting it repaired...for free.
