What keys should have come with my 2006 E53?

I received just two masters, I was told but the salesman that that year does not come with valet and wallets keys. CPO says they should come with all four and if they are not "present" the dealer is to order them. CPO does not specify specific years or models.

While the CPO inspection Program 'looks good on paper' many people have found that stealers either have very loose interpretations of it OR intentionally cut corners implementing it.

If you read again the guidelines pertaining to keys, you will note that only the 2 master keys are required while the wallet and valet (if available for that model) are optional.

I was only given 3 keys when I got my X5 - 2 masters and the wallet key, after reading the owner's manual I found that the 2005 only comes with 3 keys (no separate valet key was mentioned) but it did mention that the wallet key was of good use in a hotel.

Was it a valet or a wallet key? Our recent CPO purchase of an '06 included two masters (one newly ordered, per the CPO guidlines), but no wallet or valet. We were told X5's never had Valet's, only Wallets, and the the CPO 'Vehicle Inspection Guidlines & Standards' references Keys on page 12 (14 of the pdf) saying "Check to ensure both master keys are avilable; the wallet and valet keys are optional. Order and replace any missing master key(s)."

Of Course the dealer is only going to do the minimum required in most cases..
