Living in NYC what kind and size rims should i get!

any suggestions from X5 owners on the East coast(NY,NJ,CT). i have a 05 x5 4.4I and would like to put rims on it(after winter). what kind and size rims should i get for a nice look and not compromise the nice ride. right now i have stock 18 inch rims(looks ok but rides very nice). i know NYC has alot of pot holes and roads suck. thanks in advance for suggestions....

20" rims should be fine....And you won't compromise too much comfort in the process. Tires should be a concern with the potholes in that region...I would get top notch tires.

20" are probably the biggest - I'd still be worried about sidewall height and potholes if I was driving there all the time.

Rolling with style 215 staggered 20's...

I used to have 22's...

Rides much better on the 20's..

20's are the limit. get stock staggered ones, they look the best. if its chrome....go home

for nyc ...stay with 18 for comfort and safety ...w/ 19 u lose the comfort bcause the roads are bad and about 20'' dont even think about .Those are nice ,cool ,agressive but u dont have the suspension either the roads .Take my word I had a 3.0 w/ 17''(reallly comfy) ,I upgraded w/ 19'' ..stiffy but nice (on good roads) and then ,I mean for 3 years now I drive 4.6is on 20'' and everytime I drive in ny (almost one weekend per month in the last 5 years) I CRY ...dont get me wrong I love my 20'' rims but for often rides in nyc stay way from 20''.I know the deal
