WHOA...X5 bucked like a bull on start-up...

So I get back from my honeymoon and start up the X. First drive after 2 weeks, but it was garaged the whole time, so the temp was always above freezing for the entire 2 weeks. It started up just fine and drove OK. Then I started it for a second time this morning. Seemed to start OK, but as soon as I pulled out of the driveway, instant chaos. The engine started turning over in a very erratic "start-stop" sound pattern and the X was bucking like a bull back and forth...And then the ultimate insult..."SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light goes on. . "No f---ing way" I said to myself. Visions of cylinder heads exploding and valves melting danced in my head. After about 25 seconds, the bucking stopped. The warning light that froze my heart also disappeared.

No idea what that was all about. Has anyone had this same problem after 2 weeks in the garage?
