Problem child or normal repair
Well my wife called around the BMW shops to get info on the X5 we just bought and found out it was put in the shop numerous times. Here is a list of things not including the radiator replacement. Do you think that car is going to be giving me alot of problems or is this the look of good preventive maintence or normal repairs?

mostly common..
how much were you planning to spend on an X5 over 100k miles? when I bought a 5-Series high mileage I put 2k into it in the first week. I had a pre-purchase inspection however and worked the repairs into the purchase price. If your plan is to do the "repair as they go" technique you may be in for a lot of expense. |

Well since i just purchased a warranty that covers most of the big ticket items, I figured no more than 5k-8k over all. I found a good independent BMW shop that is going to do the pre inspection for free and they check for anything and everything, even though I already bought the car, I still would like to know if there is anything that i would need. I don't think I could of lowered the price anymore than what i got it for and white is a rare color around here.

Sounds like most of the things it would need have already been replaced, so that's less for you to worry about

Well she has a Yukon Denali XL also but always liked this body style she hates the look of the new ones, she didn't care to much to pay an extra 10K for the post facelift X5 since they look the same.
Just because something is new doesn't mean its good. Last edited by lx4life; 01-09-2009 at 08:53 AM. |
