Secondary Air Pump...
The light is current off and it has been that way for several weeks. Would this indicate that the pump is working properly and the problem is intermittent? I'm wondering if something else is at fault instead of the pump? I read these pumps might make some noise on their final leg. I've heard nothing unusual and the engine is running fine. 01 3.0 5 speed with 112,000kl Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I've replaced mine twice in my 2001 330, both under warranty. I had no other symtoms other than the engine light.
I would recommending replacing it as it may save you a very expensive catalytic converter replacement down the road.

Check all hoses that run to the pump. It might just be a dry rotted or cracked hose. That was the problem I had. Being 6 years old it could be the cause.
