No fasten seat belt light or chime

I have a '03 X5. I noticed that there's no chime or warning light at all if the seat belt is not attached. It applies both to the driver and front passanger seta.

Does anyone know, if the warning light/chime is disabled somehow or there's a fault?

You don't get the chime on 00- 03 models. Mines an 01 and I don't get the chime. But I do get the warning light. I'm not sure why yours doesn't show the warning light.

I can't answer your question but You cannot imagine how many have complained about that insistent "chime".

For a while people around here we're begging so they could shut it off.
Man do they wish they we're in your shoes.........

I get only the warning light for the driver's side, and no warning at all for the passenger side. Mine is 2006.

If there are any differences I suspect regional settings and country-specific laws have something to do with it.

OK, thanks. I must get it checked in the next service.

There were someone to comment that it would be only good if there would not be any fasten seat belt indications light/chime. Basically it is good that there's no "extra warning", but I think that the fasten seat belt-indicators somehow affects to car's safety features (like airbags). And that's important to me.

cheers
