2002 X5 4.6is Side mirror Memory issue
I have a wierd issue with the side mirrors of my 2002 X5 4.6is. I recently truned on the key memory function. Lately when I use my key the seats arrange to my setting but the side mirros go carzy, They go up and down for a few seconds and then sets up total wrong. Sometimes it points upwards other times left or right or down. This happens to both the mirrors. Does anyone know what might be wrong .......

I had the same problem on my 2001. The fix was to replace both the driver AND passenger door modules (one dealer replaced the driver module which didn't fix the problem, then another dealer replaced the passenger module with an updated one which did fix the problem)

Yep, TSB 51 52 00, see link, and link inside link
I think the dealers turn this feature off so they don't have to deal with it. works fine after repair.

Get the dealer to replace the mirror memory door module on both side which will correct a software error of not saving the position!! You paid for the feature and you should have it. I did it under warranty and mine works as advertised.
