Valley Pan repair photos and description

I've finally got around to sorting through my photos of the Valley Pan repair that I did with a friend. As most of you know, there was a change made to the valley pan and its integrated gasket. The old design had a bad habit of leaking. Very frustrating. Click the link to see the gallery and write up.

It's not that scary. Especially with all the information here on the forum . I know there are others here who have done this repair themselves. Saves a lot of money. I was able to include a few other routine maintenance fixes too: water pump, radiator hoses, coolant flush/fill, belts, oil return hoses, etc.

1. did you replace the gaskets on the rear water log? if you didn't you'll be taking it off again at 120k miles.

2. no need to remove the fuel rail/injectors. you disconnect the fuel hoses and remove with manifold as one.
