Is Yours Hard When You First Get In?

Since the temperature dropped below 50 degrees here in NYC, my X has suffered from a stiff brake pedal upon entry.

Its the same feeling when you're in a car and pump the brake without the car running. The brake pedal gets really hard and has virtually no travel.

Well since fall, when I get in my X, I always put my left on the clutch and my right on the brake... and the brake is always rock hard!

Has anyone else had this experience or am I looking at a problem getting ready to occur? Brake fluid level is normal.

I had to chuckle at the Thread title...
I have '01 3.0 and yes my brake pedal is
"hard" upon entry, though I don't always
step on it, before starting.

After starting, it feels normal, for what that's worth.

Have you had your brake fluid changed in the car's
life?

yup. not sure why you would. But yes, the pedal would be relatively hard if you just stepped on it. Put your foot on the brake, start the car, you'll feel the pedal drop as the system comes online.

Didn't you have to do it in the 545 and 6, push button start?
