Man oh' Man.....a little fender bender this morning!..sort of!

First and foremost ...this was my fault.....or atleast thats how it would read on the books...

So I get stuck behind a woman in an early 2000 Hyundai elantra.....she was milking it...the speed limit is 25......she was doing 10....she was in front of me for at least 3 miles. So we finally get to the last stop sign where she would take a right and I would take a left and be on our merry ways.....well 3 car lengths before the stop sign she locks them up....there were no cars in front of her....she just locks them up....her rear end goes up...I say oh SH*t....I lock them up and we bang.....This would be at about 5 mph...of course we both get out.....my front was touching her rear....my first question of course was are you ok????..... she did the same.......we both saw no damage ....I may have a scuff.....I did not notice anything yet and I was pretty thorough...but it's on the black part of the pre facelift......no dents, no scratches, no paint damage... just a bummer..... Thank goodness her bumber is completely fiberglass and obviously gives on contact and as for me it was on the black grainy textured plastic of the bumper...like I said if the police showed up...it would be my fault on the books for following to close......I still just cant figure out why she locked them up with 3+ car lengths to go.....

i'm just airing out to you guys....i'll run out at lunch and get a warm wet paper towel and go over the area that made contact....because i'm sick and a fanatic about the X.....but it should be ok...I suppose I need to slow my roll! lesson learned!!

RR

Glad the X isn't banged up. It should buff right out of the plastic.

SLOW THAT ROLL!

How cold is it there? Plastics get very brittle in cold weather and even a slight bump can cause a bumper cover to crack in those conditions. Glad no one was hurt, and consider yourself lucky that there was little if no damage to either vehicle.
