Question New Wheels & DSC Inactive

After purchasing 20-inch aftermarket sport wheels, I have had issues with DSC Inactive warning lights. I know my wheels and this notification are related, since the warning only appeared after installing new wheels and tires. My local independent shop advised taking the car to the dealer and said that the car showed speed sensor errors. Another possiblility is the steering angle sensor.
I took the car to the dealer and explained my problems. A service advisor said that the problem could not be fixed or the sensor disabled. He did mention that there was not any risk in driving the car. He said that I could go back to the factory wheels, but they look great and that is not an option. I JUST NEED ADVICE ON IF/HOW TO GET THE ERROR NOT TO APPEAR. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

May be you got bad sensor.. we all running on 20''/22'' and have no problem with it.
try to put your stock wheels back on and see if it still give you an error.

yeah.. this is the first i've heard of larger wheels causing a problem like that. Many of us on this forum have upgraded to 20 +.

like mrbmwx5 said, put your old ones on and see if there is still that error.

Thank you both for the replies. However, putting my other wheels on would be a real trouble. Transporting to the shop, etc. Not all the tools needed here to do the work.
Any other solutions?

I could have sworn I read about this problem in another thread. Something about the rolling diameters now throwing off something in the system but that after awhile it would go away after the system compensates.

Let me see if I can find it again.

:xoutpost:

DSC is a great part of your BMW:

"DSC constantly compares vehicle speed, wheel speed, steering angle, and yaw rate with a benchmark of plausible and optimum driving conditions' data. In a fraction of a second, DSC recognizes a threatening instability and a danger of skidding. The DSC system can correct an unstable driving condition by applying precise braking action to the individual wheels. As with ASC, DSC will if necessary also cut back the engine speed to automatically stabilize the vehicle."

These are staggered wheels. Rear is 295/45/R20 and front is 275/40/R20. Eurotech wheels with Toyo Proxes ST II

That was tire sizes. Wheels are Type 920 in silver. 20 x 10.5 rear and 20 x 9.5 front. I used hubcentric rings from Lakeshore Wheels and Tires to correct the wheel hop. Had these installed in a nearby city using Hunter equipment.
