where should this hose goes?

my indy guy fixed my power steering hoses. the problem was in my other thread

after I got home and open the hood to take a look, I saw a hose in the driver side of the eng. just stick out there and not connected to anywhere. any one know is it suppose to be like this or my indy guy forgot to connect it back?

here is the pic I took. thanks.

I'm curious too. I'm hoping it's not supposed to be connected to anything and that it's just some kind of air intake for some purpose. The reason is I have one just like it and don't remember disconnecting it from something when I was moving stuff around working on the headlights.

If I'm not mistaken mine had some suction (vacuum) when I put my finger on the end of it.

You mean the hose is free? and not connected to anything? Its most likely a breather hose..

It would probably help more if you could describe/show where the other end of the hose is connected to.

I think the mystery has been solved thanks to mrbmwx5 and primetime: breather hose that doesn't connect to anything.
