roof rack
hey guys so as the winter is coming up and i just got my new snowboard equipment its time for the roof rack. heres the question when i get the profile base system i plan on getting a bike rack, and a ski/snowboard rack all from bmw the question i have is can i have both the board and bike rack on at the same time? i think i can since each doesnt take up the whole system correct me if im wrong. also does anyone have the ski/snowboard or just snowboard rack on their X maybe you can help me out with how many boards can fit and will they fit with the bindings?

The OEM rack sucks for snowboards. Go with a Yakima rack and you will be able to get the flexibilty you want.

I think each OEM attachment can only carry 2 snowboards (with the binding facing the opposite way)...thus you will need two attachments if you want to carry 4 boards.
I agree that the OEM isn't very good...it's gonna be very difficult to get those straps over the board in the cold. Go with Yakima or Thule...they both have attachments that will work with the OEM profile 2000 rack. |
