You can fit the Rear "off-road" versions but if you have the slightly wider wheel arch plastic trims (these are usually a standard fitment if you have OEM 20" alloys) you will need to do a little trimming of the flaps. As realchef says, you will need the "with running board" versions for the front. The flap kits are readily available from BMW dealers (but not cheap) and occasionally surface on EBay. The Aerodynamic kit referred to is quite a rare (more common in USA) and expensive option ( to which you cannot fit the factory flaps)with a heavily-modified rear bumper panel, not to be confused with Sport and Sport Plus options.

Thank you
Thanks - you Guys are very knowledegable - at the risk of overdoing it - are the "off road" ones just a little longer - s1milar style - better have those if so - these 20" wheels throw a lot at the rear screen!
Thanks Guys |

Yes, I think the Off Road versions are around 1.5 to 2 inches longer but similar in style to the standard versions. I have got a set of front & rear flaps for mine but haven't got round to fitting them yet, although they would be useful in the current weather we are having!

I think that's what I said. By the way, I tried to purchase a rear flap kit whilst I was on holiday in Scottsdale, AZ last Autumn but the parts guy was worried that they wouldn't fit because I had the wider plastic wheel arch trims which come with the UK Sport Plus package 20" OEM alloys. He was quite bemused by these trims as he said they were not listed on his (US) parts database. In the end I did not buy them (pity as it was still almost 2 dollars to a £!) but I subsequently bought the Offroad versions in the UK, which I am assured will fit with a bit of surgery. I am visiting Scottsdale again in April ; any X5 afficionados out there and are there any social functions 10-16 April?
