Umnitza LED tail light experience?

I'm tired of always getting the bulb out message and sanding down the sockets and repairing the tails every couple months, so I think I want to go the aftermarket LED route. Anyone have the Umnitza LED tails?? They look good to me and the price is great at $229/pair. I've read both positive and negative reviews about the company so just curious before I order these. thanks!

i was tired of getting the bulb out message as well so i got LEDs. I think they look great! 229 is fare. I think i paid about $189 for mine on ebay plus shipping and didn't have any problems on my 2001 4.4.

Sorry to thread hijack but i figured it's also inline with the topic and may help you ask questions to umnitza on their gaurantee.

My LEDs flicker on my 2005 4.8 now. I spoke to Tom - mrbmwx5 - aka mr 1-800-BMW Tech Support - and he mentioned that i need an anti-flicker on the power wire of hte LEDs. Not the factory tail light harness.

Anyone know where i can get this, Radio shack employees are the worse nowadays, they wouldnt know where the lighting section is much less what i can use to boost the power to the tails. Resistors? Any electricians out there? HELP. And help the original poster while you're at it.

My .02 is it's a great idea. I got sick of replacing too. Just ask umnitza for a guarantee on anti-flicker.

That sounds good - I loved the way they looked on your silver X (mine's silver also). I'm at a point where I have a whole list of stuff I need to do the X to get it where I need it to be from a reliability and maintenance standpoint or I'll just trade it in. It looks like I'm just going to do the repairs and keep the X a while longer!

What is the reason you guys keep getting bulb out messages and having to sand the socket, etc.?

due to rear sunroof drain and the foam behind the tails lights

Yep - it's bad too. I have had to do that chore 3 times now in about 6 months and it's just not worth my weekend to waste on dumb stuff like that any more! I like fixing things and being done with it.

Get the ones that mrbmwx5 shows..they're made by sonar I believe...I wouldn't buy anything from umnitza..even though they're probably the same exact thing.
