clear protective film ?

Just got a new X5 a few weeks ago and I'm trying to decide if I should have a clear protective film put on the front and mirrors. It certainly makes sense but I hate the line it leave. Seems like you can't help but getting wax in there.. I'm probably going to get it done.. just wondering what other thought?

Worth every penny. Get it done. The line is rarely visible except close up, and it's not that difficult to avoid it when waxing or clean the line if you get wax in it by mistake. To me, the risk of unsightly paint chips is far worse than "the line".

I agree with Phil47. I had it done in June here in northern VA. I tried DIY and it was pretty ugly. Went the professional route, and it's great. Wax buildup is a minor problem compared to paint chips. Not cheap--I paid over $850 to have it done.

A must! Just got back from a road trip and took the Invisible Glass can and cleaned up the front from bugs in about 5 minutes. There was also some tar that just wiped off.

Do it.....

The thin line become unnoticeable. I paid $525 but the peice of mind know that everytime I am behind a dump truck that is hitting bumps, I am not getting a rash on the front end....it really was like my first mod that I did.

If this material is very good and better than automotive paint, IMO: why can't it be applied all throughout and be like a factory option ?
