Newb with question: Curt hitch and OEM module

Hi guys. I just got my 2002 X5 3.0i from my mom (she can no longer drive due to illness)
I tow a 4x6 enclosed trailer with my Honda Accord and since it will soon be sold, I need to add a hitch to the X5 sooner than later.
Ive decided to go with the Curt after reading what everyone has said: its the best of the aftermarket models.

I found that ECSTuning.com has the OEM module and 4-pin adapter in stock so Ill buy them as well. One thing Im not 100% sure about....
After installing the module, do I have to take it in to the dealership for them to program something, or am I good to go?
Thanks
Matt

Weasel will become famous soon enough
After installing the module you will need it to be retrofitted into the vehicle, basically telling the rest of the car it's there so it will work. The dealer should charge 1, maybe 2 hours labor. Or if you know an indy with the OEM BMW programming software that can retrofit it... but that isn't likely to find.

But I'm sure you'll be happy with how much better the X5 will tow than a honda accord!

If you are getting or have the OEM module, then yeah, it has to be retrofitted to work. Not plug and play.
