Should I Get this

hey guys
i am looking at a 2001 x5 4.4. it is fully loaded with everything it does have 198000km (all highway weekly trips from edmonton to canmore) on it though and that is the only thing i am worried about. this is all for 12500 cad. so i just wanted to know what you guys think of this offer.

You know I have no idea if that is a good deal but ... its a 2001 and has 120K miles .. seems a lot and its been driven in mostly cold temps. I'm thinking be prepared for problems. Check and see how many times the oil separator has been changed.

Is a later year and less miles an option? Also, I know that you can't do anything about being in cold weather but that just underscores more that point.

Get a printout of all the maintenance done on it over the past 8 years. If big items haven't been changed yet...hello mr. credit card.

I don't think warranties are much of an option at that age and mileage.

If your wallet can afford maintenance and repairs, it could be fine. You have dealer maintenance records, which is good. It has a few years on it, and quite a few km. If you are looking for trouble-free motoring, you probably need to spend a little more $$ and get something younger and with fewer km.

I think it would have more problems since its only the 2nd year of x5 production too. Not saying the 2000 and 2001 x5's had a lot of problems but I'm just guessing with that high of kilometers.
