I was able to find the dealer that originally sold my X new via BMW North America. I called the service manager at that dealer, told him I was considering buying the vehicle and could he look up the service/issues for me. In 1 minute he gave me the run down and I had all the info I needed. Ad that info to the Carfax and I had a pretty good record of info to go with.

Good luck - a really nice looking X5

also do they all come with self-leveling suspension?
does anyone have ability to run the car history VIN through BMW.. i just tried with 2 dealers, 1 gave me nothing, the other said everything looks fine and no problems with car.
Appreciate any help i can get... if i get rid of M, i figure the 4.8is the next best thing!

thanks

To have BMW purchase the car then certify it was never thought of, thank you for that great idea... just go to my dealer & ask them?
appreciate the help, will keep everyone posted

Also found one much further away for $36k but only 10k miles on it!
Yes, just ask the BMW dealer of your choice. Believe me, in this economy, they should be more than receptive as many of the things they receive from from BMW, like loaner cars, coop dollars, inventory etc. are based on units moved and CSI ratings. They get to move another unit and you, hopefully, will give them a good rating helping them in the process. I would be surprised if they didn't help you out in this manner. Remember, should they say no, perhaps another BMW Center will say yes....

Agree on the brakes in terms of the rotors are concerned, but calipers typically don't rust so much and in my experience it doesn't come off so quick.
