You have rear air suspension and most likely a leak in the bags.

But if I have air suspension, shouldn't there be a height adjusting switch right next to the light switch like I've seen in air suspension equipped X5's?

The switch is for models with front and rear air. 4.4i's came with rear air as standard equipment.
