Problem when at 50-60
I have a problem with my X5, when im driving around 50-60 mph, the car seems to dip the revs then revs up again, its only doing it sightly, doesnt do it when at idle or when i do over 60.. car will be running at 2000-2500 rpm, and you can see the needle drop and then it revs back up to normal, its doing it all the time any help will be brilliant Scotty |

If you hold it at a higher rev while idling, any hesitation/stumble?

Can you feel the engine stumble/cut out a little or is it just from watching the tacho?

yeah you can really hear the engine dip down and up, i was thinking it would be sparks or a fuel problem?

Try pulling any stored codes
Could be spark related or fuel related. Do a fuel pressure test.

It could be a fault with the drive that controls the valve for the variable length intake runners, or the associated sensor. I would think a code would be thrown but I'm not sure.
