need a good Indy in NY
Looking for a good mechanic to replace my exhaust manifolds gaskets on the m62. I live in LOng Island, anyone have good experiences with mechanics around here that work on BMW's?

OpenRoad BMW in Edison , NJ ... MorrisTown BMW , NJ - took a good care of my car for 2 years ... 75$/h...
Had a bad experience with BayDiagniostic and Little Garage in NYC - those guys are more expensive than a dealer ( 110$/h) and do not care about your car.

On a side note, imo no matter where you take your autos for service, you should at least do enough research to understand potential symptoms and what the problem(s) may be. Sometimes this helps the service facility when you can have open dialogue concerning the issue.
