should I keep my current mats or get the BMW all weather ones?

This came with the car:

I like them, but they are actually worn out a bit on the driverside to the point that its almost got a hole by the gas pedal.

Or should I get the newer style mats that are in the E60/65, etc?

While the plush mats are nice a comfy, we are actually planning to use the X for activities like the beach, mtns, and excursions to places like Yosemite, and Mammoth, etc. Rubber type mats will fare better IMO

Yeah, BMW sells 3 kinds of rubber mats. The waffle style (top left), which is yours, retail for $101.22 (2 front + 2 rear), made of hard rubber and only come in black. The "All weather floor mats" (top right) which are re-branded Weather-Tech Mats, retail for $90.00 (2 front + 2 rear), and come in 3 colors. And finally the "Floor Liners" which are also re-branded Weather-Tech Liners (bottom), retail for $176.00 (2 front + 1 large rear), come in 3 colors and by all accounts THE best mats to get for the X5 since they cover more of the floor area (especially the rear) and have high sides to retain plenty of water/mud/snow/coffee/milk/whatever!

Those are the exact same mats that I have except they are WeatherTech, BMW must have just "replaced" the logo.
