Headrest monitors/DVD player options

As you guys already know, I just recently got a 4.8is and it came with headrest monitors. The only thing is that they're not hooked up yet. I took the headrests out to look and it seems like they only installed the monitors and left the wires inside the headrests. Its a clean and neat install and it looks very easy to run the hookups.

My question is which brand/model DVD player do you suggest and where is the best mounting location based on your experience? I like the spot in the lower center console but it looks kinda awkward there? I might try to do it myself but I'll probably just have the local stereo shop take a hack at it. Any suggestions welcomed.

TIA!

Are they factory monitors? If so you could just get the electronics kit and hook it all up and you're good to go.

Its not factory, but its a very clean install so I want to keep the monitors and add the DVD player and headphones.

Yeah it looks clean from the side. The factory install dvd unit was mounted on the floor in the middle. There is a guy who just got a 4.8is with one. You could probably do that or maybe mount one in the trunk, but that might not be such a great option for a single dvd unit, maybe a changer though.

My OEM DVD player sits in the middle-rear-floor area....at the heel of where the middle passenger would sit. If one wasn't looking for it, they wouldn't even notice it.

Can you post up a couple pics of your setup? I'd like to make it look close to factory as possible...ie, copy your setup

Thanks!

Hey chilliwilli, does your dvd player say anything on it other than BMW? I'm curious who actually makes it (and a model number, etc.). Can you take a look at let us know?
