Help! Blown Fuse? Part of instrument panel not working!

Battery died and I had to get a jump...

First thing I noticed, and temp. for the car reset to Celsius.

The main concerning thing, is half of my instrument panel is not working correctly.

The for light and brights light indicator dont come on (but the lights work)
The inspection indicator light doesnt come on at start
The RMP/tach gauge does NOT work (but does light up)
Cruise control indicator does not work
The Gas gauge does not work (but does light up)
The display area (warnings, MPG, date/time) does not light up or come on

The temp gauge and the speedometer work just fine. All of the gauges light up.

Anyone have ANY ideas? I checked all the fused in the glovebox + rear, found nothing to be blow that would be for these.

Any help would be GREATLY apprecaited!!

Yeah I fixed the issue... did you have a dead battery by chance? Apparently this is a common issue some-what among BMW's. Try disconnecting the main ground wire in your trunk for a bout 30 minutes to reset the system. That did the trick for me. The ground wire is located under the spare tire if I remember right, you'll need to take out the metal piece that the spare sits on as well.

Good luck

By the way, one more question. All I can see from the manuals are in German and temperature read in Celsius. I've changed to English from the setup manual but it still shows German. Do I need bring my car to dealer to get it reprogram or I can do by myself. Thanks in advance.

If you just want to change the temp reading from C* to F*, do the following:

With the ignition key in position 1, press and hold the trip odometer reset button. While holding the button in, turn the key to position 0. This changes the temp display on the A/C and the exterior temp display.

Not sure if that was it or you are still having other troubles? But I take it disconnecting the ground worked?
