How to change the audio MODE to 'CD changer'

Hi,

I didnt have a CD changer before... now I installed the iSimple iPod system connecting to the wires where CD changer is supposed to be. Now everything is connected and looks good. Now I go to the radio and do the MODE change it goes to Radio or the single Business CD and NOT the CD changer. How do I go to the CD changer mode, manual says keep pressing MODE until you see CD changer. It just shifts between Radio and CD and not the CD changer, since it was not installed earilier should I do some programming or what do i do?

Thanks

Sorry, don't have an answer but you might have better luck if you post at the audio/electronics forum.

Good Luck!

As far as I know, all the devices connected to the I-bus broadcast to other devices what they are. If you see a CD player, your iPod system may be programmed to be a CD player, not CD changer. Whether it is a CD player or CD changer, no programming is required. It is pretty much plug and play..
You may want to disconnect the battery and reset your I-bus.

Eject the CD from the CD player and keep pressing the CD button it will switch you to CD changer mode

Hey niketennisplayer, just wanted to know where the module hooks up to? i went to the back where the cd changer is suppose to be but i cant find it. Do i have to remove the trunk space and not just the left panel? -Thanks!

iPod interface adaptors emulate the CD changer. So if you are hitting the MODE button and CD Changer is not an option that appears then you either don't have the unit connected properly or you have a bad unit.

lumpia_pimp - the CD changer connections are located in the left rear electronics bay area. Sometimes you have to remove the plastic spacer between that area and the trunk well to locate it, but more often they can be found tucked up closer to the wheel well area towards the front of the vehicle. Keep looking, they are there on all US-spec X5's

UCrewX5 - Thanks! it was tucked alright. It was 2 molex connectors, just sticking out of one of the thick cables. Don't know why i was looking for one connector, my mistake.
