Just got the X back from garage after engine swap.

Hi guys,
Finally my X is on the road, but it won't lock/unlock from the key remote.
It was working when I brought it there
I googled a bit and found some advises about disconnecting the battery for at least 10 min...What do you think?
Thankx in advance

If key was not in commission for a while, internal battery in key could be dead. I believe battery charges from being in ignition. My spare goes dead from time to time and I use it for a few days and charges back up.
Hope this helps

I've drove it for a week and it's not willing to start working so far.
is there any lock that blocks this function when the battery is disconnected?

I believe the key only needs a few hours to re-charge.

Does eveything else work like when you hit the remote the lights inside come on inside? Then the X is receiving a signal but only lock/unlock doesn't work. Does the central lock button on the console work?

If all those are true then, it might be your general module. Read this thread:

Good luck!

When I press the unlock lock trunk lid unlock buttons nothing is going on.
Before I brought it for to the shop it was working.they swapped an engine and now remote doesn't work at all.
so that's why I am asking if disconnecting the battery can trigger some kind of lock,'cause my mechanic disconnected the battery while working on the swap.

As far as I know, no, it does not trigger a lock similar to what you're talking about. I 've disconnected my battery several times up to an hour and have had no problems.

How long did the swap take? One day? One week?

Your battery in the key could be dead. Heard that once drained fully may not re-charge again.

Do you have a spare? Have you tried it?

Sorry but looks like thats necessary, regardless.

Key = Stealer. General Module = Stealer.

Good luck and let us know how you make out!
