Not Reversing: Transmission Problem?

Hey Fellerz...

I have an 02' X5 and just recently, about a month back on a weekend my car would not reverse when in R out of my driveway. It basically felt like my car was in neutral, there were no other noises nor did the SES light enter. I had to push the car out so I could drive it to a shop, and ofcourse right when I pulled in the car started functioning. The owner of the shop basically didn't want to look into the problem, he kept telling me "transmissions bad" and that I would have to trade the car in while it's still functioning or buy a new transmission.

So this same problem reoccurred this past Sunday evening, would not reverse.. took it to a different shop and whala! ofcourse the car starts functioning. The owner of this shop was quite clueless, he drove it around a few blocks and really had no answer for me, told me he would have to see it when it's not functioning, but ofcourse it seems whenever I drive it around it just magically repairs itself.
