Key won't work in door, Help PLS!!!!!!!!!

We'll I'm stuck at an account in Fort Worth because my car won't open. I was trying to unlock it with the key and heard a click and then the key just went freely from left to right with much less resistance. I've been using the key instead of the remote for the past 7 months and haven't really had any problems. I have been putting off dealing with the stealers to get a replacement because of everything you have to go through to get a new key. I know that there is a way to get into it and I understand why it is a secret guarded so carefully, but if there is anyway someone could help me I would be greatly appreciative.

The battery is fine, it's got to be something in the door itself.

Will the remote still work to unlock the passenger door? Or is that the reason you're using the key lock in the first place (remote dead)?

yep, the remote has been dead. I have been putting it off because I've been able to handle everything else myself with the help of this forum. I've had the unfortunate opportunity to replace the window regulator and door handle carrier in the rear left passenger door. I was also able to change the brakes thanks to X5 world.

I talked to the dealer and they said that I'll either have to have it towed to them or get a locksmith. I know the saying is "stuck between a rock and a hard place", but today "stuck between three rocks" would ring truer.

pop it? It would mean some damage but then you would just put over a heyhole cover thing anyway...
What about holding the key for window function, or can you get in the tailgate somehow? YMMV...

Don't know if I should be typing this, but I know that there is a way to get in. The only thing that even remotely makes any sense is to get to the push button on the top of the tailgate assembly. I just don't have anything here that I can bend like that.

I don't know if AAA or like service could get in if something inside the door is broken. I mean, if this is a case like someone who could not open the door even from the inside using the pull latches.

I Don't know if that's your case or not.

I think the method you're talking about is the AAA method. I guess I would just call AAA or someone and do that on the passenger side.

Meanwhile, if you get in the X try this reprogramming on your key - it might work:

1. Place key in the ignition and cycle back and forth between position 0 and position 1 five times very quickly
2. Remove the key from the ignition
3. While holding down the unlock button, press the lock button 3 times and then release the unlock button. The doors should lock and unlock to confirm the programming.
4. If you have another key to program then repeat step 3 for the additional remote(s). The doors should lock and unlock to confirm the programming.
5. Turn on ignition to finalize

I talked to the dealer and they don't even have a clear idea as to how to get in the car.

Call like the AAA like services or auto locksmith - they'll get in through the passenger's side.
