Transmission Filter Kits - Info needed!

3 companies make a Transmission filter kit available for the A5S 390R Automatic Transmission from what I've found : Genuine BMW, Elring, Febi.

I've heard the Elring kit is complete in terms of what is needed to be replaced when the filter is being serviced, but the filter itself is not adequate in comparison to the one that comes in the vehicle from the factory. Does anyone know if thats true?

Assuming that the Elring kit is not the best replacement option, would the Febi kit be worth buying? I've heard nothing about this particular kit but noticed its priced closer to the OEM filter kit price than the Elring kit.

I plan on tackling the ATF Fluid replacement in the next week and want to purchase the most sufficient filter kit for the transmission. As much as its nice to save a few extra dollars, I dont want the life of my transmission compromised due to that. Can anyone chime in?

Why chance it. Just buy the OEM. It's just filter, new plug/oring & gasket and ATF.....
On the ATF, depending on make/model, I like the Amsoil ATF in lieu of the Esso 71141

Like I said, its nice saving a few extra dollars and worth it if there is a comparable kit to the OEM BMW part. I also would like to know for my own personal knowledge and future reference.

On ATF, i've read many posts and think I'm going to choose Redline D4 or Valvoline Dexron VI.

For the filter, try getting the OEM BMW filter here:

Parts Counter Forum

I think I paid about $90.

Crevier hasn't been too good to me. So far, I'm looking towards Tischer BMW to order the filter kit from unless someone can chime in on the quality of the Filter kit made by FEBI. Thats the only other company besides BMW and Elring to have a filter kit for the car. I understand that FILTRAN is marked on the filter itself, so i'm hoping to see if I can get my hands on the FEBI kit to compare it to OEM.
