Should I remove my OEM clear bra?
I have 68k miles on her now and really, no chips at all on the front. BUT, since the clear bra isn't looking so hot (its dull now with wax on the edges), I'm tempted to take it off.
Will this damage the paint? Will the paint under it look slight different that the rest of the car? Should I just leave well enough alone?

My X also came with 3M protective tape (just on the front portion of the bumper) however after some 6 years it was clearly showing the effects of time plus the ends & edges weren't as tidy as they were originally. I decided to take mine off and when I did I could clearly see it had done it's job. I don't believe removing it will damage the paint, it didn't on mine.
If I were you I'd get a professional to remove and replace it with Xpel 3M Clear Bra: https://www.xpel.com/products/paint_...&submodel=6108 . Front end protection was also discussed on this recent thread: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...beauty-x5.html Pic are of mine prior to removal.
