Upgrade Suggestions -- 2005 4.4i black/black

My budget is roughly $1k for some mods to my X -- any suggestions on where to start? I was thinking of adding smoked tail lights, new pedals, running boards...
Any ideas on pricing and where some decent aftermarket quality items can be picked up? I checked bavauto.com and think they are a little pricey.

Thanks,
J

I'd like to start with cosmetic and eventually step to performance. My X is still under warranty and I want to be careful not to install anything that will void the warranty. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
J

White guages with chrome rings are a nice touch

Are the gauges something I can buy from the dealer or is there an aftermarket accessory dealer that is recommended?

If you don't already have the sport package, I'd say clear the head/tail lights. Then I would say OEM running boards, Ipod integration and bluetooth (if you dont already have it), nice matching tint, underride guard/skid plate, HID fog lights, guage faces, pedals... just whatever suits your personality.

BTW - are you in/from Vegas?

I also meant to mention - the 4.8is kit, while it looks fantastic, doesn't really "pop" on a black X. You would spend over $1k on it total and you wouldn't get that much bang for your buck IMHO. The kit looks amazing on bright contrasting colors like Imola red because the red is so dramatic against the black trim. With black on black, you really have to keep the painted parts immaculate so it doesn't blend in with the trim.

Thanks for the suggestions...I'm from SoCal -- Marina del Rey -- the name JVegas was a nickname given because of the time spent at the casinos when I was in my college days...
Anyway, yes, I have the sport package on the X already -- pretty much every option but the load floor and self leveling. I was looking at the running boards and also replacing the exhaust tips to the 4.8 look as I like the wide tip look. I also want to tint the windows and lenses of the clear tail lights. Is the DICE Ipod adapter an easy install? Sorry for the numerous questions, I'm still a newer member to the BMW club...
