fitting , 2001 parcel shelf

how the hell do you fit the none roller blind to the e53?
just bought one of ebay, had a go at fitting it to the car, no idea, ?.
do you remove the 2 clips at the front of the runners?.

if i remember it right, in the 2001 you have all the rods pushed into the side locks (14 on diagram) - the shelf is fully collapsed, and the last rod is supposed to "click" in place.

then you wiggle the shelf into the location, place each lock over the openings, back side of the shelf tilted in (back side of the shelf is closer to the front of the car, as the thing is sitting backwards)

then you snap the front parts of the locks in, and you should be able to pull on the handle and the rods should move in the tracks...

to remove the shelf - you push the handle all the way towards the front of the car until the rods click inside the locks, and push the whole thing up while tilting, it comes out...
