I think X5's climate control sucks...

Whats the point of having climate control for individual temps when it seems like only the center toggle switch controls the air more than the climate control features..

I agree...the scary thing is that BMW is eliminating the center vent control on new models..

To be honest I think the climate control on my X5 3.0d 2003 is better than my brand new Audi A6.. The audi always seemed to get me too hot, but the X5 seems to get me just right.

If you think the X5 climate control sucks..its because you dont know how to use it yet. I can adjust the temperature and make it comfortable for everyone in the vehicle. Its almost unlimited. I almost never mess with the upper control vent...It is set between the single blue dot and red...everything else is done down below...it works great...heat in the winter and freezing cold in the summer...and everything in between.

Climate control is awesome

I wish to politely but strongly disagree. I find the X climate control (with climate pkg) to be fabulous. The X holds the temp. rock steady thr' high desert and into the snowy freezing mountains.

I really appreciate having slightly cool air to my face&upper body while having the X regulate the cabin temp.

don't like the climate control either, too complicated, too many buttons.

yes, there are a lot of buttons. I use 'auto' 95% of the time and rarely touch the others !

I don't think its complicated. I just don't like how if I have the temp at 90 and/if I have three blue dots, it would just be hot. Or if I have it at 60 and three red dots it would be real hot. I tried to method of putting it between one red and one blue but it doesn't even work that good. I know that the toggle mainly controls the air to the face and all but I just wished that there was a feature were we can turn that upper toggle thing off and just use the regular climate control.

Listen. Forget about the center vent dial. Leave the center vent dial in the middle....one red dot and one blue dot. Control the temp with the climate control temp (usually between 68-72 F)....The driver side one overrides the passenger side if the difference is more than 3 degrees. Also check with the dealer if your climate control (INKA system) is working properly.

In SoCal, usually my driver's side temp is at 68-70F without a/c running or 70F with the a/c running.
