Great Mechanic In Brooklyn, NY... accepts Warranty America too

My mechanic of 17 years. Great Eastern Auto. Its a shop run by an asian guy named Hung.

The address is 628 e 28th street, Brooklyn NY between Flatbush and Foster Avs. They guy is awesome! Just an example: One of my axle boots had ripped and was spewing grease all over the inside of my rims. I was looking at the posts here talking about $600 axle replacements. He charged me $140 installed for an entire new axle.

He's the kind of guy that will always show you the old parts and how worn they were or where/why they failed.

And the VERY convenient. You can park your car on the block on a Sunday night, leave the keys in the drop box, call him Monday morning and tell him what the problem is, and 90% of the time the car will be fixed and you can pick it up by 5pm Monday. I do this all the time. And the 2/5 train is only 2 blocks away.

If something doesnt really need to be replaced, he will advise you NOT to even though he's losing money.

I once had a Prelude that I had a problem with a 2am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. I had to drive 40 minutes from Queens to Brooklyn in 2nd gear because the clutch had sunken to the floor. All I could do was start the car in 2nd gear and drive. I could slow down but no stopping. If I stopped the car'd shut off because it was in gear.

So I was able to park it at the corner of the block, put the keys in the drop box, and called him Monday morning to explain what happened. Of course Im fearing the worse when he calls me back figuring I need at the very least a new clutch. He tells me it was a minor problem and just come pick it up. When I get there he shows me a clip that'd come aloose and how he reconnected it. HE CHARGED ME ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Of course I gave him $40 because he could've told me anything, I wasnt at the shop when he was checking things out.

Lastly, I have an aftermarket warranty thru Warranty America. I just had my alternator go out on me. Although they are extremely frustrating, he will work with them. He charged them $600-something for the alternator job and has yet to ask me for the $100 deductible. Maybe he forgot. He also replaced two of my window regulators, a faulty idle air control valve, and one of the door lock mechanisms under the warranty (all at different times).

The phone # is 718-434-8995. Ask for Hung. Tell him you have an X5 and Lance sent you. And they work on most cars. They do great work at excellent prices. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to tell him Lance with the X5 sent you.
