Headlight Level Sensor
I took my X5 in for inspection and the stealer stated that a Headlight Level sensor "was eaten by a rodent". I never noticed anything, the one headlight is definitely lower than the other, but its not too bad.
They wanted something like $600 to replace it and I told them to forget about it. I am curious however how much this would be for me to fix myself. Looking at realOEM, I found this picture: ![]() And it would seem the only thing that could cost that much to replace is the wire lead coming out of #2. Has anyone else had this issue? Is that the correct harness they were talking about? If so, any way to just splice and replace that wire or does it need a new control unit? Thanks!

So... It looks like #2 is the HID ballast. This is for the actual D2S light.
Your leveling motor should be a simple 2 or 3 wire set up that you should be able to splice back together... You will have to look on the back of the housing since the picture you attached does not show the leveling motors.
