To Buy Or Not To Buy?
I am about to purchase an 04' X5 from a dealer (not BMW). I have learned that he bought it at auction and he told me that the A/C compressor was just changed. He also said that they discovered some front end damage. The car only has 6,000 miles (in 14 months). Should I be very very scared. Any suggestions or precautions I could take. Thanks a lot for your help - I will be an x5 owner soon enough - just looking for the right one!!!

If you have the vin, you can do one of those car searches..i keep forgetting the name of it..But if it had been in an accident, it should have been reported...Good luck!

What's the deal $$$$? Maybe you can find something better. Look around, check www.Carmax.com, go to www.kbb.com to check prices for the car. Don't just jump on the first car you see, there many of them on the market. Take your time. Get the vehicle's VIN #, so someone can help you to pull out history of this car and all reports.
There maybe some damage under the car, who knows? No rush......OK.

I would keep looking. There are too many unknowns about this example. Besides, there are plenty out there to choose from so you don't have to buy this one, unless it's some insane deal.

Check the VIN on www.carfax.com just in case. You never know after all these storms and some of the cross state requirements on titles etc.

Wait a minute. Have you contacted Maximus on this board? He's got a KILLER deal on his X..LOADED 05 for 45K. It is worth a LOT more than he is asking..I dont know if it has been sold already, but you'd be crazy not to take it, if its what youre looking for...$.02...
