Trunk lid won't CLOSE . . and it's RAINING!

Have found plenty of threads about it not opening, but mine won't close. When you press the fob or the button on the dash, I can hear the mechanics doing something but I cannot close the lid. It is as if something is out of place and blocking the closure. Any ideas?

fiddle with the actual latch mechanism in the trunk. sometimes they will get stuck as if the trunk is locked, therefore blocking the slot for the hook on the tailgate.

Tried that, didn't work. Actually took it in to the dealer this morning, the service rep told me it would be covered under warranty and waived my deductible since I was in there about 2 weeks ago for an oil leak. Fingers crossed it all goes as hoped and thanks for the reply
