Yet another exhaust question, and I have searched

OK, I have been searching the threads to decide what exhaust to get. I have seen and heard what seems to be the main players here. Remus, Dinan, etc.

Anybody doing something custom with some magnaflows or something?

Found these, still pricey but with a good exhaust shop I will still be under $1,000 installed and that will include the xpipe resonator delete.

MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust

Any thoughts or examples of going this route?

Funny you mention Magnaflow performance exhaust. Are you sure you searched?

Still looking over your linked thread, man its long. I did start looking at this thread of yours, but you are running a 3.0 and I have a 4.6. Looking to hear a sample of a V8 X5 with some Magnaflows or something.

Did you go with the Magnaflows? like I said. Still reading through your thread. and thanks for the quick response.

Uhmm ... I have a 4.8 (see sig) and it's not "my" thread.

Short version:

Mtx5 added x-pipe & removed resonator on 3.0, he no like. Tried Magnaflow mufflers + chrome tips = heaven.

Listen to his audio clip. BTW .. my 4.8 on x-pipe is on there too.

Sorry, realized this after reading a couple more pages on that thread.

Thanks for the short version.

haha jose is 100% right. the system i got is A M A Z I N G. it sounds better than many exhausts out there that cost double the price.

i think if you went with this setup on your V8 you will not be dissapointed. its already deep and rumbles on my 3.0, imagine what it will do on your 4.8.

but since im being a little biased there, the only other option i would recommend is eisenmann/meistercheift. i was going to go with a setup from eisenmann but it costed over $1500 more (i think the magnaflows sound equally as good though).

in the end, you wana be happy with your solution, so do a lot of research, and know what you are looking for in terms of performance and sound. goodluck

Just listened to your vids, man that sounds good. Nice and deep rumble.

I am leaning towards doing the magnaflows now. The oval style that I linked in the beginning of the thread. I will do before and after vids as well and post.

the oval ones look good.. but they won't be as loud as the round mufflers.

True, but with the V-8....

I left my exhaust stock and just did the resonator delete/x-pipe. Just what I was looking for.

ya i guess your right. the V8 does make a difference. when Jose put his x pipe there was a HUGE difference compared to when i put my x pipe...

so i guess those magnaflow ovals will do. just add some bigger piping.

(but imagine how loud it would be with round mufflers )
