Haven't been on in a long time but need some help.

Hey everyone, I haven't posted in a very long while because I have actually been living overseas. This post is in regards to my 2001 E53 3.0, I will be moving back to the US in about 2 weeks and had some quick questions. First of all, I had some minor problems that I had fixed before I left but nothing serious although I do still have some small things to get fixed something with the steering from what I understand which is about a $200 dollar fix a window regulator and an interior trim piece...nothing major. Now my question about this is do I continue to invest in my 2001 which has about 95,??? now or do i start looking for a newer option? I have someone who would like to sell me some 87's for about 600 and they need 2 tires which isn't a bad deal especially since I wouldn't be putting them on until march at the earliest anyway and i have my stock 18 sport rims with brand new tires on it now. Secondly I have been overseas for about 6 months now, up until 2 months ago it was driven almost daily for small trips to the mall etc. by a friend but lately I have had a family member start it once a week in the driveway for about 5-10 minutes, will there be any foreseeable problems?

Thanks.

pski,
Didn't think that oem 87s came unstaggered. Is that price good? Yes, very good if
you want that wheel look and can justify the set of new tire cost.

Is your car worth "keeping"? Only you know your situ...a car that runs well and only
costs a reasonable sum per year to keep running well is certainly cheaper than a new
$70+ car, imo.

Those short trips to the mall by a friend, and that driveway idle time is not what one
wants done to their car, but I realize your intentions. I would get the oil & filter changed
when you return, and check coolant level, coolant reservoir, hoses, etc.

Posibly 4 front rims, or 4 rears... Some people dig up 4 fronts for non 'is X5s so they can do rotations ets.

im thinking about doing it, selling 2 of them then purchasing two rears or just running all 4 non-staggered as 4 non-staggered 87s look better than 4 non-staggered 18s
