Red face 17K on the odometer and one shaking car

The car shakes like I am driving on rocks (uneven pavement) and sometimes it feels like it is floating on air...weird! Pulling to the right of the road at highway speed and the shake can be well felt on the steering wheel....dealer says, bad tires!!! any advice? Currently, stock Dunlops (20") on the car with of course 17K+ miles on them, hard to imagine they are dead, the tread left seems to be about 2-3/32..so I dont know why this terrible shaking will be due to the tires....thanks!

did the car sit for a long time?? If so then you have flat spots on your tires and they should be replaced

It's cold outside. My tires take about two miles at freeway speeds before they're round again this time a year...I do park outside.

tires balanced recently? alignment done recently? no curb hopping done recently? hit anything in the road recently (pot holes, uneven pavement, debris)? These are the things that I would look to first? Also, how did this come about? Did it get worse and worse after first noticing it or did it happen in one day?
